Oregon Coffee Roaster Hurt By Power Outage

A coffee roaster was one of hundreds of people affected by a more than six-hour power outage in downtown Salem, Ore., yesterday.

Electric equipment failures led to the loss of electricity, resulting in approximately $300 worth of burned beans for Alyssa Cloud, owner of Governor’s Cup Coffee on Court Street, as the gas on the roasters continued as the power went out.

“The place was totally full of smoke and you couldn’t see four feet in front of you,” Cloud told Salem’s Statesman Journal.
