Austin Coffee Shop Plans Expansion After Near Death

Progress Coffee Austin“The ambiance and community and people kept bringing so much love and vitality and art, but I wasn’t able to pay the bills,” owner Joshua Bingaman recently told the Austin Business Journal. In addition to the two new locations, more Progress cafes are expected to open in 2012.

“Everyone has this notion that the coffee business has such a huge profit margin, but after packaging and staff and rent, you are really walking a fine line,” Progress Operations Manager Troy Authement told the journal.
