Coffee exports from Uganda were down 15 percent in November compared to the country’s November 2010 output. Uganda is Africa’s second-largest producer of coffee, behind Ethiopia, and 85 percent of its coffee exports are Robusta beans.
According to a Bloomberg report, Uganda’s total crop this season is still expected to jump to 3.3 million bags, compared to 3.15 million bags in the 2010-11 season. Last year’s exports were worth a reported $448.89 million.
