Uganda Coffee Exports Down 15 Percent Last Month

Coffee Import bagsCoffee exports from Uganda were down 15 percent in November compared to the country’s November 2010 output. Uganda is Africa’s second-largest producer of coffee, behind Ethiopia, and 85 percent of its coffee exports are Robusta beans.

According to a Bloomberg report, Uganda’s total crop this season is still expected to jump to 3.3 million bags, compared to 3.15 million bags in the 2010-11 season. Last year’s exports were worth a reported $448.89 million.
