St. Petersburg, Fla.-based roastery Kahwa Coffee is moving into a new roasting space with plans to double production, expand distribution regionally and nationally, and triple its number of retail stores.

Kahwa began roasting in 2005 under the guidance of native Frenchman Raphael Perrier, who now runs the company with his wife Sarah. According to a recent Tampa Tribune report, the couple plans to add a second roaster to their new space at 3244 44th Ave. N., which would allow them to double roasting capacity to 8,000 pounds per week. Here’s more from the Tribune report:

They’re also training an in-house management team to help them open 10 new cafes in the next 12 to 15 months on top of the five they already run in St. Petersburg and Tampa.
