The staff of Reanimator Coffee shows off the new space.

Three-year-old Philadelphia roastery Reanimator Coffee has opened its first coffee bar, serving single-origin pour over coffees, as well as espresso drinks.

If the early Yelp reviews are any indication (are they?), the new bar is an instant hit with local Fishtown residents who have been left thirsty for easily accessible high-end coffees. The new bar is in the heart of Fishtown, in a corner space formerly occupied by a flower shop at 1523 E Susquehanna Ave.

At first glance, the simple bar seems a wonderful reflection of the Reanimator team’s uncluttered approach — led by co-owners Mark Capriotti and Mark Corpus — to coffee preparation and service:

As roasters, our mission is simple: to provide local coffee drinkers with fresh, sustainable, single origin coffee that has been craft roasted right here in Philadelphia. As coffee enthusiasts, we aim to teach you about what we’re roasting, where it’s from, what it tastes like, how to brew it, and all sorts of other things you may or may not care about.
