Ben Put of Phil & Sebastian Wins Canadian Barista Championship

Ben Put of Calgary’s Phil and Sebastian Coffee Roasters has won the Canadian National Barista Championship, one of the first national coffee championships leading to the World Barista Championship. A competition veteran, Put took second place in last year’s Canadian championship behind Phil and Sebastian colleague Jeremy Ho.

The two-day Canadian championship took place during the Oct. 20-21 Canadian Coffee & Tea Show in Vancouver.

3rd – Keaton Ritchie (Myriade)

4th – Megan Feniak (Phil and Sebastian)

5th – Morgan Allen (Caffe Artigiano)

6th – Tristan Mapstone (Fernwood Coffee)

Rosso’s twitter handle is Rosso Coffee Roaster (no “s”) but the name of the business is actually Caffe Rosso.
