Here Are Your 2014 Big Western Barista and Brewers Cup Champions

The third and final U.S. regional barista and Brewer’s Cup championships, The Big Western took place this past weekend at Lot 13 in Los Angeles.

Taking the top two spots in the Barista Championship were Charles Babinski of G&B and Go Get ‘Em Tiger in Los Angeles (Southwest), and Laila Ghambari of Cherry Street Coffee in Seattle (Northwest). Winning the Brewer’s Cup were Todd Goldsworthy of Klatch Coffee in the Los Angeles area (Southwest), and Honor Forte of Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. in Olympia, Wash. (Northwest).

All four of the regional champions will receive byes in the first round of the national Barista Championship and Brewer’s Cup, which will take place during the SCAA event in Seattle in April. They’ll be competing alongside finalists from all three of the regional competitions.
