Cheese Syrup at Starbucks Australia is a Real Thing

An Australian redditor has posted a picture of what appears to be an authentic Starbucks syrup bottle with some highly questionable contents: Cheese Syrup.

Naturally, a yellow-tinted syrup bottle simply labeled “Cheese” sets the mind aflutter with horrific possibilities, but it turns out the syrup is most likely associated with the “cheesecake-inspired” whipped topping for Starbucks Australia’s seasonal “Strawberry Cheesecake Frappuccino® blended beverage.” Starbucks has more on that drink:

Inspired by one of the world’s favourite (and most decadent) desserts, enjoy ice-cold creaminess swirled with our signature strawberry puree and a crunchy layer of cookie crumbles. Top it off with a decadent cheesecake-inspired whipped cream, swirls of strawberry sauce and a few shakes of more cookie crumbles for a tasty summer treat unlike any other. Let your inner child run free, and Say Yes to adventure by the sip.

Seeing the shocking image, fellow redditors talked much of vomiting in their mouths and shuddering at the possibility of nacho cheese-flavored lattes. But the original redditor, who’s handle is unmentionable here, replied, “It’s actually not too bad!”

The maple bacon cheeseburger latte is going to be a big hit for Starbucks this next holiday season.
