Google Offers, the company’s Groupon-model voucher system made its Portland, Ore., debut at Floyd’s Coffee Shop. According to a ClickZ.com report, 1,708 out of an allotment of 200 vouchers were sold midway through the one-day sale period.
“I was initially a little concerned about the staggering number of vouchers we were selling,” owner Jack Inglis told reporter Christopher Heine. “But I am encouraged by what I have seen so far.”
With Google Offers, companies can choose to offer the discount for 24 hours or cap the number of vouchers. Floyd’s, with two locations in upscale Portland neighborhoods, offered $10 vouchers for $3.
