Woman Sues Dunkin’ Donuts After Diabetic Shock

According to numerous reports, a 47-year-old Philadelphia woman with diabetes has filed a lawsuit against a Dunkin’ Donuts shop, claiming real sugar accidentally put into her coffee in lieu of artificial sweetener sent her into diabetic shock.

Danielle Jordan ordered the coffee on her way to work on June 15, 2009 and asked for artificial sweetener, according to the lawsuit, which also says Jordan fell ill after drinking a portion of the coffee, which she believed contained artificial sweetener.

The suit, which does not seek specific damages, was filed two years after the alleged incident because the company and the claimant had been investigating and negotiating the case, Jordan’s lawyer said.
