Starbucks has announced plans to add 200 drive-through locations across the U.K. over the next five years, creating approximately 5,000 jobs.
“Customers want the best coffee wherever they are, rather than just as a high street treat,” the company said today in a statement.
Starbucks currently operates 700 cafes in the U.K., including nine existing drive-throughs, and expansion plans include adding additional traditional retail cafes. The news follows Starbucks’ announcement earlier this year that it is planning an aggressive expansion in China.
