Heavy Rains May Delay Brazil Harvest by 30 Days

Brazil’s National Coffee Council, CNC, is predicting that heavy rains may delay harvesting in the world’s largest coffee producing country by 30 days. According to a Bloomberg report, wet weather is expected to be especially problematic for arabica growing regions near Sao Paolo and Minas Gerais.

CNC president Silas Brasileiro said in a report obtained by Bloomberg that producers should be careful to monitor the quality of their coffee, as fruit may be prematurely knocked off trees by the heavy rains.
