Fiat has given new meaning to the phrase coffee to go. Working with Italian coffee maker Lavazza, the automaker has developed an in-console espresso machine for its new 500L model, which debuts in the United States next year. The company has not announced whether the espresso add-on will be available in the U.S.
The “Coffee Experience” kit, which is expected to cost around $300, includes Lavazza-branded coffee cups, a spoon holder and a sugar container. The system includes a heating element and uses Lavazza’s “A Modo Mio” coffee pod system.
According to Fiat, it is “the first standard-production car in the world to offer a true espresso coffee machine.”
