Santa Cruz, Calif.-based Verve Coffee Roasters plans to open a new roasting facility in the downtown Los Angeles arts district.
Eater L.A. is reporting that there are no plans for a retail component to the new roasting facility, and that it will occupy space inside a building occupied by a furniture maker. The facility will allow Verve to meet the demands of its expanding roster of wholesale accounts, and it may also serve as a training and cupping facility, according to the Eater report.
Verve would be the second high-profile artisan coffee roaster to move into the arts district, which for years has been known as the warehouse district, along the downtown’s east side. L.A.-based Handsome Coffee Roasters opened its flagship roasting and retail facility there, at 582 Mateo Street.
