One of New York’s oldest restaurant coffee suppliers has launched a rebranding effort to introduce retail sales. Kobrick Coff Co., which has been roasting small batches for many of the city’s top restaurants since 1920, now offers 1 lb. bags of some 30 specialty blends, single origins and espressos. Working with brand design agency Sandstrom Partners, the company has also introduced a line of signature cups.
“The Kobrick family has been roasting coffee in small batches for four generations, selling it through some of the most respected chefs and five-star restaurants in New York without ever having a consumer-facing brand,” Sandstrom president Jack Peterson said in a statement. “Our assignment was to respect that heritage of proprietary quality while bringing the brand to a new, discerning coffee-drinking public.”
