A Columbus, Ohio, coffee roaster that started in the backroom of a Trek Bicycle Store, Backroom Coffee Roasters, has reportedly scored a wholesale contract for 125 grocery stores.
According to a recent Columbus Dispatch report, the 2-year-old coffee company has reached a deal to supply four varieties of its coffees to locations nationwide of the Greensboro, N.C.-based grocery chain Fresh Market. Here’s more from the Dispatch:
Backroom’s co-owners Trish Bishop and her son, Chris Bishop, have been working on roasting 6,000 pounds of coffee beans day and night for two weeks to fill the order.
We first reported on Backroom in April, as the roastery’s operations were still young.
