Farmer Brothers Targeting Higher End Market with ‘Artisan Collection’

farmer brothers new artisan coffee lineFarmer Brothers has launched an “Artisan Collection” line of coffees, the majority of which are either Rainforest Alliance Certified or USDA Certified Organic and Fair Trade Certified.

The foodservice coffee and tea supply company — which distributes its brands including Farmer Brothers, Superior, Metropolitan, Sierra Tea, Cain’s and McGarvey to grocery stores and restaurants nationwide — says the new coffees are being brewed in a LEED Silver-certified facility, and that a portion of the proceeds from the new line is being given to food security projects in a handful of Central American coffee communities.

Fourteen new varieties are now available in the Artisan Collection line, which the company says will be targeted to “coffee destination” establishments, such as upscale restaurants, college campuses, hospitality, gaming channels and coffeehouses.

“Our customers are excited, and their response to the Artisan Collection has been beyond our expectations,” Farmer Brothers President and CEO Keown said.
