In today’s Unpacking Coffee, Kandace and Ray dig into the roasting and branding roots of Elm Coffee Roasters, which recently celebrated the first anniversary of its roastery and café in the heart of Seattle’s Pioneer Square.
Bringing with them combined coffee experience from upscale coffee outfits including the Joe Coffee Pro Shop in New York, Stumptown Coffee Roasters and Onyx Coffee importers of Bellingham, Wash., Brendan Mullaly and Drew Fitchette struck out on their own with Elm in December 2014, maintaining a tight roster of seasonal coffee offerings available online, in wholesale or at Elm’s sunlit bar.
