The owner of Houndstooth Coffee, a two-year-old coffee shop on Austin’s north central side, has announced plans two open a second location with expanded service downtown.
The new retail location will be inside the Frost Bank Tower, at 401 Congress Ave., and unlike the existing Houndstooth, it will offer weekend evening table service. Here’s a description from the company:
The downtown shop will prepare special coffees and food pairing events to take place only on Saturdays and Sundays. And like the original Houndstooth, the second location will continue to host a lineup of beer and wine—the perfect weekday Happy Hour or the new low key, weekend haunt.
“As Austin grows, we want to grow with it,” owner Sean Henry said in a press release. “We could think of no better setting than the iconic Frost building that anchors downtown. Our goal is fairly simple; we want to share better coffee with more people.”
Henry said he plans to open three additional Austin locations in the coming years, as well as a Houndstooth in another Texas city, which has not been announced.
