Covington, La.-based roastery and retailer PJ’s Coffee has announced plans to open 18 stores in 2013, focusing on partnerships in high-traffic areas such as casinos, hotels, university campuses and grocery stores. Six of the new locations have already opened.
Over more than three decades, PJ’s has grown to become a dominant chain in and around New Orleans. There are currently 54 PJs locations in Louisiana, plus five in Mississippi and one each in Arkansas, Georgia and New Jersey. The vast majority of PJ’s locations are franchise-owned, while at least are run by the corporation.
