White Heron, a specialty tea purveyor and coffee roastery has a new face in the charming New England city of Portsmouth, N.H., with the opening of the White Heron Coffee & Tea Shop at 601 Islington St.
The coffee and tea company was founded by Jonathan Blakeslee in 2005, and has steadily expanded its retail presence at farmers markets, as well as local grocery stores and restaurants. Now Blakeslee has opened a 38,000-square foot retail space — with a separate production and packaging space that makes room for a U.S. Roaster Corp. drum roaster — including a 39-seat cafe.
