Fourth-generation, family-run brewing equipment manufacturer Wilbur Curtis has announced that Kevin Curtis has been promoted to president and CEO, succeeding his father, Chairman of the Board Bob Curtis. Additionally, Kevin’s brother Michael Curtis has been promoted to executive vice president.
Kevin has been with the Southern California company since 1986, and Michael joined seven years later. The company says Kevin will be charged with “focusing on product innovation and sales growth, setting strategic goals, and further extending the vision set by Bob Curtis.” Michael Curtis, meanwhile, will continue his focus on internal operations.
“Kevin has always taken care of the ‘outside’ of the company, while I have focused on the ‘inside,’ ” Michael Curtis said in a prepared announcement this week. “With Kevin as our new CEO I firmly believe that together we make an unbeatable team, providing the utmost in value to our customers, and the finest working environment to our internal Curtis associates.”
Wilbur Curtis maintains a wide range of batch brewing equipment and related accessories. In recent years, it has made numerous plays in the upmarket brewing segment with products like the Gold Cup brewer and the Seraphim brewer, which won a people’s choice award for “Best New Product” at the 2014 SCAA show.
