SCA Launching First World of Coffee Event in Asia, Busan 2024

The Specialty Coffee Association has announced that its flagship European trade show, World of Coffee, will be expanding into the South Korean city of Busan in 2024.

Taking place at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) from May 1-4, the 2024 World of Coffee Busan show will also host the 2024 World Barista Championship, the association announced.

In Korea’s second-largest city, the Busan show will be the group’s first in the Asian market. Other forthcoming World of Coffee events are scheduled to take place in Athens, Greece (June 22-24, 2023), Dubai, UAE (Jan. 21-23, 2024) and an another European location in June of 2024.

“We are delighted to bring World of Coffee, our leading coffee trade show, to Asia for the very first time,” SCA CEO Yannis Apostolopoulos said in an announcement from the group. “The coffee market in Asia has been booming for many years, and World of Coffee in Busan will be the platform at which coffee companies across Asia and around the world will be able to connect, network, and drive innovation in the specialty coffee space.”

The World of Coffee Busan show will be produced and delivered by licensed partner Exporum, which currently produces trade shows in Ho Chi Minh City and in Seoul under the Cafe Show name.
