The National Coffee Association (NCA) of the United States has named the winners of its annual awards, which will be celebrated at the group’s upcoming annual conference in Houston on March 7.

Allan Colley, the longtime head of warehousing and logistics company Dupuy, is receiving the 2025 NCA Distinguished Leadership Award, while Kyle Bawot of green coffee trading company Ofi is receiving the 2025 NCA Volunteer of the Year Award.

Additionally, farmer-focused lending company Root Capitol is receiving the NCA’s “Origin Charity of the Year” award. It should be noted, given the name of the organizational award, that Root Capital’s primary activities as a nonprofit are lending and advising for positive social impact, as opposed to charitable giving.

Root Capital

To date, Root Capital has loaned over $2 billion to more than 800 agricultural enterprises, with a major focus on the coffee sector.

“Root Capital provides farming families access to financing and services that focus on gender equity, climate action and next generation jobs,” NCA President and CEO Bill Murray said in announcement from the NCA. “With this award, we recognize the deep impact of the organization’s holistic approach to improve the lives of coffee farmers around the world.”

Allan Colley

Allan Colley started his career at his father’s business, Dupuy Group, in 1973, eventually becoming president until the sale of the company in 2023.

A former president of the Southern Coffee Association and the Green Coffee Association, Colley has been a longtime NCA member, event sponsor and advocate for the warehousing industry.

According to the NCA, the Dupuy Group under Colley’s leadership installed the first green coffee silo in the U.S. in 1992, one of many groundbreaking investments and technological solutions Dupuy introduced in the world of coffee warehousing and storage.

“Allan has served the coffee industry for over 50 years with humility, integrity, and generosity,” Murray said. “This award honors his visionary leadership, service to the NCA and contributions to the industry.”

Kyle Bawot

Recognized as the NCA volunteer of the year, Kyle Bawot is a senior director at the raw ingredients company Ofi.

He has served on the NCA’s Next Gen Council — focused on the next generation of corporate leadership in coffee — since 2019, including the past two years as chair. According to the NCA, Bawot was instrumental in formalizing and strengthening numerous activities within the council, as well as in launching the NCA Mentorship Program.
