Banks Predict Dramatic Reductions in Brazil’s 2025/26 Arabica Output

Brazil’s 2025/26 coffee production is forecast to decline between 3% to 6.4%, with arabica coffee production expected to drop significantly by 13.6% to about 38 million bags, according to multiple bank sources in a recent Reuters report. The dramatic losses in arabica in the biennial down cycle are expected to be somewhat offset by robusta growth of approximately 7%.

Simply Good Coffee Launches New Brewer with No Plastic Contact

Simply Good Coffee, which launched in 2022 with a novel approach to home coffee brewer sales that puts money in the pockets of partnering coffee businesses, recently launched a new brewer that eliminates plastics from all points of contact with the brew water. “The Brewer – Plastic-Free” is open for pre-sales at $379, with shipping estimated to begin Aug. 7.

UK Company Launches Gym Flooring Made with 30% Coffee Grounds

UK-based gym flooring supplier Sprung Gym Flooring recently unveiled its Ground Floor Collection, featuring flooring made with 30% recycled coffee grounds. The company is pitching the flooring — which combines coffee with Sprung’s signature rubber formulation — as a more sustainable option for gym and sports flooring, with enhanced shock absorption and thermal regulation.

One Village Coffee Launches Nationwide in Sprouts Farmers Markets

Pennsylvania-based, B Corp-certified roaster One Village Coffee announced the nationwide launch of four signature USDA Organic-certified coffee roasts in 447 Sprouts Farmers Markets stores from May through July 2025. Lansdale’s Backyard Beans Coffee Company acquired One Village in 2023, while the sibling brands have remained distinct.

SCA Launches WCC Judging Skills Educational Initiative

The Specialty Coffee Association recently announced its new World Coffee Championships (WCC) Judge Skills Program. As one of the SCA’s fee-based educational offerings, the in-person program is designed to locally train coffee professionals on becoming WCC judges.

Victoria Arduino Launching North American Tour

Italian espresso machine brand Victoria Arduino is taking a series of sensory events, workshops and networking opportunities on the road throughout North America. The Victoria Arduino Experience tour kicks off April 29 in New York, followed by stops in Montreal, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Charlotte.

Free Reusable Aeresso Go Cups for SCA Expo Exhibitors

Coffee brewing equipment and drinkware company ICOSA Brewhouse is collaborating with roaster maker Stronghold to offer Aeresso Go Sensory cups, reusable cups for coffee tasting at this weekend’s SCA Expo in Houston. The cups will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Golden Roast Closes All Shops in Knoxville

The Golden Roast Coffee & Roastery, a popular coffee purveyor near the University of Tennessee’s campus in Knoxville, announced on Instagram that it is closing all of its retail locations, effective April 24. A reason was not provided, although the company expressed “heartfelt gratitude” to staff and patrons.

Monoware Releases Barista Collection Drinkware

UK tableware maker Monoware just released its new Barista Collection, a line of drinkware tailored to specialty coffee drinks and sizes.

Caribou Coffee Adding Eight Georgia Locations

Minneapolis-based coffeehouse chain Caribou Coffee announced plans to open eight new locations in Georgia. The company launched U.S. franchising in 2021 and subsequently sold its roasting operations to JDE Peet’s.
