The first two days of the 2025 Specialty Coffee Expo in Houston provided thousands of coffee professionals with a Texas-sized platform for sensory exploration, equipment demos, endless hand-shaking, innovation and education.
The largest SCA Expo yet — and the last under the Expo name as the trade event transitions to the World of Coffee brand — brought in an estimated 17,000+ registered attendees, according to the organizers.
DCN will have much more Expo coverage on new products and program announcements in the days to come.
For now, here’s a little taste of what went down on days one and two on the Expo floor…

Nico Nino, co-founder of Maven Coffee Co., based in Wilmington North Carolina, experiments with aromatic smoke bubbles at the Proper Syrups booth.

Elika Liftee, 2022 U.S. Brewers Cup Champion and Director of Education at Onyx Coffee Lab, supervises a Wingman Cobot robot executing a pourover at the Onyx booth.

A La Marzocco motor connected to bike gears and breaks to illustrate the company’s new “grind by revolution” technology.

Drinkware maker Icosa Brewhouse won a Best New Product Award for its Avensi Wave Sensory Drinkware Collection while launching a new product, the Aeresso Go espresso cup.
