Two new Italian-inspired cafes by the name of Spazio Caffé will soon be opening in Santa Monica and Venice, Calif.
Both cafes are co-owned and operated by Santa Monica locals and childhood friends David Sandor King and Laszlo Geber, along with friend and recent partner Istvan Bessenyei. The owners currently run two other Italian cafes in the area known as Caffé Bello.
Spazio will feature espresso drinks using beans from Italian coffee roaster Manuel Caffé, teas and a selection of Italian thick hot chocolates. The cafes will also offer freshly baked pastries, organic sandwiches, salads and home-made desserts.
The first cafe, at 1511 Montana Ave. in Santa Monica, will host it’s grand opening on Saturday, Jan. 26. The Venice location is scheduled to open in the first half of 2013.
Geber and King say they share a vision for a casual, authentically European coffee shop with fresh food and great coffee at a good price point. “We love the energy and community that we’ve fostered here in Santa Monica and West Hollywood,” says King. “We’re happy to be sharing what we love in the city we love.”
