Southwest Chicago’s Beverly, a traditionally Irish Catholic neighborhood known for a surplus of traditional pubs, now has its own indie coffee shop and micro roastery.
Inspired by Chicago’s crime noir past, Gregg Wilson opened Hardboiled Coffee Co. at 9135 S. Western Ave. last month, serving a simple menu of coffee and espresso drinks with various brew methods. Wilson roasts the beans in-house using a roaster made by Toper Cafemino.
