An innovative agricultural studies program at Widener University in Chester, Pa., known as “Cultivation to Cup” has led to WU Brew, an organically produced roasted coffee retailing for $13.99 per 12-ounce bag.
A portion of the sales go back into the WU program, in which students first traveled to Las Lajas, Costa Rica, in January, 2013, to assist conservation efforts and help reverse damaging architectural practices. For the program, the university worked with local roastery Golden Valley Farms. To stay in touch with the Cultivation to Cup program, visit the Facebook page.
