Instant coffee behemoth J.M. Smucker Company is partnering with the nonprofit Life is Good for a coffee line. Ten percent of net profits from the new line will go to the Life is Good Kids Foundation, which provides goods and services to children in need.
The coffee itself represents a bit of a departure for J.M. Smuckers, known for roasted and instant coffee brands including Folgers, Dunkin’ Donuts, Cafe Bustelo and Cafe Pilon. The Life is Good coffee line will include only UTZ-certified coffees.
“We are excited about our partnership with Life is good, which will provide another premium coffee brand option for our consumers,” says Mark Smucker, J.M. Smuckers’s president of U.S. Retail Coffee. “Life is good is a great fit with our family of brands and will undoubtedly resonate with our consumers as it supports our sustainability initiatives as our first line of 100% certified coffee.”
The coffee line, which will be available late this summer, includes five blends representing a light roast, a medium roast, a dark roast and two flavored coffees.
