A pair of California coffee lovers is working with Los Angeles-based micro roastery Forge Coffee to create a new brand of cold-brewed coffee concentrate. Trevor and Rebecca Smith say they have been experimenting with home cold-brewing for years, and the couple has launched a Kickstarter to help fund the Secret Squirrel brand.
With a “Made in the U.S.A.” marketing approach, Secret Squirrel plans on buying all its green beans from Hawaii. The beans will then be roasted by Forge owner Doug Martin. As of this writing, the Secret Squirrel Kickstarter campaign had already hit more than 60 percent of the $7,500 goal.
