Video: A Guide to Coffee Culture in Dublin

Le Cool, an online alternative guide with local editions in 11 international cities, has released a video guide to coffee in Dublin. The beautifully shot short film includes clips from interviews with the leaders of some of the city’s most influential coffee purveyors, including 3FE, Fallon & Byrne, Coffee Together at the Bernard Shaw, Roasted Brown and The Fumbally.

“To coincide with our Coffee Issue, we’ve put together a (short) guide to Dublin’s burgeoning coffee scene,” the Le Cool team says about the 5-minute video. “With one eye on the World Championships coming here 2016, we talked to Dublin’s finest establishments about the universal cup of joe.”

The video was shot and edited by Louise Gaffney, produced by Sweatshop.ie, with music by Nouveau Noise.

“It’s really exciting,” Rachel Firth of Dublin’s Fallon & Byrne says of Dublin’s coffee scene. “I’d say there about 12 cafes in the city of Dublin that are at a really high level. Five years ago, that didn’t exist.”

Adds Colin Harmon of 3FE, “There’s an old joke in the coffee industry that we didn’t have a coffee scene, we had a panini scene. But I think people are putting more emphasis on their coffee.”
