Brewklyn Grind, a Red Hook, Brooklyn-based roastery, has unveiled some of the most splashy coffee packaging you will ever see.
The packaging is the first in a series of “art-infused” bags being introduced by the roastery owned by brothers Craig, Alain and James Farrelly, which maintains numerous wholesale and grocery accounts throughout Brooklyn, Queens and New Jersey. This first collection of bags was designed with local artist Joe Loli, and more collaborations are to follow, the roastery says. (More on Joli and his work.)
The bold new packaging line is actually part of a much larger rebranding effort from Brewklyn Grind, including a new website and logo, that began after much of the physical stock of the three-brothers-owned business was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in late 2012. In addition to moving its roasting operation to a new Red Hook location, the Brewklyn Grind team is currently building out its first retail shop in Clinton Hill.
