Mighty Good Coffee Roasting, which has been building a solid reputation since opening on Main St. in Ann Arbor, Mich., in 2006, is planning to open two new retail locations this Spring.
The first will be at the Jackson Road location of local bicycle chain Two Wheel Tango, where Mighty Good is setting up a full-service espresso and drip bar. The project reunites Mighty Good owner David Myers with Two Wheel Tango owner Dennis Pontius. The two used to race bikes together in the 90s before their respective businesses ate up their free time.

Mighty Good’s second location will be downtown at Mark’s Carts on West Washington, inside a cart that will focus on cold brews and ice drinks, as well as manual drips and espresso drinks. This will be the first business to open in the morning hours at Mark’s Carts, an urban garden with yearly culinary tenants, most of which specialize in ethnic street food.
All of Mighty Good’s roasting and wholesale operations will continue at the company’s Main St. facility, which has managed to survive widespread retail turnover over eight years in the heart of the city’s bustling shopping and dining corridor.
