Unpacking Coffee with Kandace and Ray: ReAnimator Coffee

In this week’s episode of Unpacking Coffee, Kandace and Ray check in with the 6-year-old Philadelphia roastery and retailer ReAnimator Coffee, whose name was inspired by a 1922 short horror story by H.P. Lovecraft called “Herbert West-Reanimator,” regarded as being the first piece of fiction to depict reanimated corpses (zombies).

ReAnimator last freshened its brand by unveiling new packaging inspired by a German wood cut. Replacing hand-stamped brown craft bags, the new bags differentiate each coffee’s country of origin through clear color-coding.

Here Kandace and Ray chat with ReAnimator’s Matt Scottoline:

Unpacking Coffee is a weekly show discovering new coffee roasters one episode at a time led by Kandace and Ray of the Portland-based studio Needmore Designs, which specializes in coffee, wine and lifestyle brands.
