In today’s episode of Unpacking Coffee, Kandace and Ray check in with Ritual Coffee Roasters, founded in San Francisco in 2005 by Eileen Hassi Rinaldi, who moved from Seattle to find her new city’s coffee roasting scene to be underdeveloped.
Like San Francisco’s coffee scene, Ritual has grown and matured deeply in the years since, and the company recently unveiled new branding that reinforces existing elements such as the cup-and-star logo, while toning down others that invoked the brand’s revolution theme.
Kandace and Ray discussed the rebranding — including significant changes to the company’s 12-ounce retail bags — with Ritual Director of Marketing and Communications Tim Schofield:
Unpacking Coffee is a weekly show discovering new coffee roasters one episode at a time led by Kandace and Ray of the Portland-based studio Needmore Designs, which specializes in coffee, wine and lifestyle brands.
