Unpacking Coffee with Kandace and Ray: Jersey’s Modcup

Today’s Unpacking Coffee gets up to date with Modcup Coffee, which has had a big summer in Jersey City, N.J. opening a flagship café and a new production roastery while refreshing the brand and introducing new packaging.

Kandace and Ray chat with Modcup wholesale director Ryan Foster, who also wears the hat of lead designer for the roaster/retailer. Foster shows off Modcup’s reimagined cold brew concentrate bottles, which boast markings and recipes to help consumers approximate Modcup’s barista-made drinks, while explaining how the company’s name is a kind of counterpoint to the term “third wave,” which can sometimes confuse customers without context.
