The Portland, Ore.-based Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) — operator of the Q Coffee System — has selected Stamford, Ct.-based cloud-based commodity management systems provider Eximware as its strategic technology partner.

The Q Coffee System now involves more than 3,500 certified Q graders globally, and provides training and technical assistance to actors throughout the coffee supply chain with the goals of increasing the volume and value of high-quality coffee, and creating a common language through which to evaluate coffee quality. The group also licenses its marks to companies wishing to promote Q Certified coffees.

CQI said in an announcement today that Eximware’s role as a strategic partner will be to manage and enhance the technology behind the Q Coffee System through custom development. In addition to cloud-based commodity management solutions, Eximware also offers commodity sourcing and procurement services and software.

“The Eximware team was selected because of their knowledge and expertise of the commodity trade, in general, and the coffee industry, in particular,” CQI Executive Director David Roche said in today’s announcement. “Eximware has an excellent reputation as a trusted business partner to some of the best known and regarded entities in the trade.”
