Milwaukee roaster/retailer Stone Creek Coffee has announced plans to open its first Chicago location, in the north side Lakeview neighborhood, with plans to open an additional “three to four” stores in Chicago by 2020.
The announcement comes less than four months after 24-year-old Stone Creek opened its first store outside greater Milwaukee, in Madison, Wis. Like the Madison location, the Lakeview shop will include a training lab for Stone Creek baristas, wholesale clients and public coffee classes.
The Lakeview store is expected to occupy approximately 2,000 square feet inside a new development at 945 W. Belmont., next to the Belmont “L” stop.
In an announcement today, Stone Creek Co-Owner Melissa Perez said moving into Chicago represents the next step for Stone Creek “in its mission to methodically build a company with sustainable growth.”
Including its downtown Milwaukee factory café, Stone Creek currently operates 11 cafés throughout Madison and Milwaukee, with another location at 7954 Harwood Ave in Wauwatosa, Wis., scheduled to open this summer.
