Coffee-focused software provider Cropster has announced the hiring of specialty coffee retail expert Isa Verschraegen as product manager.
A licensed Q grader, Verschraegen was an instrumental figure in the launch of the Barista and Roaster Guilds of Europe, as well as in the unification of the American and European Barista Guilds through her role as guilds director at the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).
“Her work as a barista, wholesale trainer, coffee shop owner and manager in Belgium and in London, [has] brought her tremendous insights into the challenges of specialty coffee retail businesses and baristas,” Cropster said in an announcement of Verschraegen’s appointment today.
With main offices in Innsbruck, Austria, and a U.S. office in Sacramento, California, Cropster has evolved its product offerings beyond its highly regarded roast profiling software to include a wide range of services concerned with inventory, quality control and management of green and roasted coffee throughout the supply chain.
The company said Verschraegen will primarily be working with coffee shops, roasteries and Cropster software experts to help integrate businesses up and down the supply chain, while she will also work on research and development for coffee shop-related products.
“I’m excited to be working with Cropster to bring their solutions into coffees shops. There are so many opportunities to help integrate and improve workflows across roasteries, coffee shops, and all the new equipment,” Verschraegen said in the announcement. “It’s an exciting time and I’m already looking forward to helping take the stress out of the work behind the counter.”
