Italy-based espresso equipment company Gruppo Cimbali is consolidating its U.S. operations and manufacturing, with a new headquarters located in Renton, Washington.
The company recently announced that as of June 1, the business activities and spare parts warehousing that have been in Fairfield, Connecticut, will be moved the Seattle suburb to join existing facilities.
Gruppo Cimbali described Seattle as the “heart and soul” of the North American coffee industry, adding, “This location will allow the company to be at the pulse of coffee culture and provide an ideal environment for the continued development of a solid North American expansion.”
In a breakthrough moment in United States coffee equipment manufacturing, Gruppo Cimbali acquired 15-year-old Seattle-born espresso company Slayer Espresso in 2017. The Italian group’s other international brands include La Cimbali, Faema and Casadio.
Cimbali says the consolidation of U.S. offices and manufacturing is part of a broader strategic plan to expand in the U.S. market.
“In the coming years, Cimbali Group foresees significant, exponential growth in the manufacturing of their machines, attributed to a plant in the Renton headquarters dedicated to expediting the production of their ‘Made in USA’ machine,'” the group stated.
