Chamberlain Coffee launches Ready To Drink Latte

Chamberlain Coffee Launches Canned Lattes

Emma Chamberlain-led coffee lifestyle brand Chamberlain Coffee has announced a new line of ready-to-drink, plant-based canned lattes. The drinks are being distributed to Walmart. There are four variations: Cold Brew Latte, Cinnamon Bun Latte, Vanilla Latte and Mocha Latte. The influencer brand — which includes roasted coffee, single-serve packs, matcha and coffee accessories — closed a $7 million Series A funding round last year.

Caribou Coffee Drops Alternative Milk Up-Charge

Minnesota-based coffee chain Caribou Coffee has announced that beginning May 4, members of the Caribou Perks loyalty program who order through the app can get non-dairy milk in their drinks for no extra charge. As of last month, Caribou Coffee had 330 company-owned, 141 non-traditional and 294 franchise locations in 11 countries.

Lavazza Launches Flavia Brewer for Offices

Italian coffee giant Lavazza has announced a new compact brewer designed for workplace settings. The Flavia Creation 300 + Chill Refresh can create 14 different beverages that can be iced, hot or frothed. The beverage system has built-in smart technology and a digital interface for office users. The brewing system is compatible with Flavia’s exclusive Freshpacks.

Starbucks Appoints Brad Lerman to Top Legal Position

Starbucks has announced Brad Lerman as the company’s new executive vice president and general counsel. Lerman has previously served in leadership roles with the Federal National Mortgage Association, Pfizer, and healthcare technology provider Medtronic. He will report directly to Laxman Narasimhan, who recently took over as CEO after the re-resignation of Howard Schultz.

Two Bonavita Brewers Awarded SCA Certification

The Specialty Coffee Association announced that two Bonavita coffee brewers have been awarded the SCA Certified Home Brewer mark. The brewers are the “5 Cup Drip Coffee Brewer with Thermal Carafe” and the “Enthusiast with Stainless Steel Carafe.” The SCA certification requires rigorous brewing standards for automatic filter coffee brewers for the home.

Christopher Feran Launching New Roasting Company

A Kickstarter campaign for a new roastery called Aviary promises “a roastery for the 21st century.” Coffee buyer, roaster and consultant Christopher Feran is behind the new business, which seeks is following a quality-focused, small-volume, direct-to-consumer approach. According to the Kickstarter, which has exceeded its $10,000 goal, Aviary coffees will be available by pre-order only in limited drops. Feran was previously the director of coffee at Cleveland-based Phoenix Coffee Co.

Marco Feliziani Appointed Simonelli Group CEO

Marco Feliziani has been appointed the new CEO of Simonelli Group, the parent company of espresso equipment brands Nuova Simonelli and Victoria Arduino. Feliziani started at the company in 2015 and has served as sales director and deputy chairman. Fabio Ceccarani, who has been the CEO the past six years, is leaving the company after 14 years. Simonelli Group recently opened its new campus in Belforte del Chienti, Italy.

Global Coffee Platform to Present Findings of Brazilian Study

The nonprofit Global Coffee Platform is hosting a webinar to present the first findings of a study on coffee growers’ income in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo. Taking place May 12, the webinar is for GCP members and partners.

Eversys Appoints Andre Eiermann Global Marketing Director

Swiss espresso machine manufacturer Eversys has named Andre Eiermann as global marketing director. Eiermann has experience at Volcafe, Mondelēz International and Victoria Arduino. Eversys has recently opened offices in the UAE and Singapore and is expected to complete the expansion of its Sierre facility by the end of the year.

Biodegradable Materials Companies Develop Coffee Pod Biopolymer

Bioplastics companies Danimer Scientific and TotalEnergies Corbion have developed a compostable coffee pod biopolymer. It is compliant with proposed EU regulations that would require plastic packaging to be compostable, according to the companies. The European market annually uses 550 million pounds of plastic in the manufacture of single-use coffee pods, Danimer Scientific estimates.
