Two prominent global coffee experts are in the middle of a North American summer tour to show off green coffees sourced from Burundi.
The Burundi on the Road Show is being led by Jeanine Niyonzima-Aroian and coffee consultant Sherri Johns. Burundi-born Niyonzima-Aroian is the founder and owner of the Massachusetts-based trading company JNP Coffee. Johns, meanwhile, is a longtime Cup of Excellence judge and educator who owns the firm Whole Cup Coffee Consulting.
The two coffee pros are in the middle of a 10-city tour across the United States and Canada, hosting cuppings to highlight 15 different green coffees from Burundi.
While the tour has already passed through New York, Toronto, Montreal and Los Angeles, upcoming stops include Kansas City, Houston and Portland, Oregon. See the updated tour schedule here.
According to an announcement, the green coffee tasting tour will feature women-grown coffees. With operations in Burundi, JNP manages an in-house price premium program called Dushime that supports approximately 11,000 women and their coffee farms.
