Take the RoasterTools Business of Roasting Survey

United States-based coffee roasting software provider RoasterTools has launched its inaugural Business of Roasting Survey. The company is calling all roasters to participate in the approximately 15-minute survey. Results will be used for an actionable report (and a Roast magazine feature) regarding revenue, pricing, marketing and other operational data for roasting businesses.

Spot On Coffees and Garam Um Hosting Brazil-Focused Cupping in Chicago

Specialty green coffee company Spot On Coffees is hosting a special coffee event on March 7 featuring Brazilian coffees curated by Garam Um, the 2023 World Brewers Cup third place finisher and Brazilian champion. Being held at the Chicago Architecture Center from 2-5 p.m., the event includes a cupping session.

Farmworkers in Costa Rica Benefit from Insurance

A story in El País this week outlined how an insurance scheme for coffee farmers and farmworkers has come into effect in Costa Rica. Led by the Costa Rican coffee institute ICAFE, the insurance program is designed to strengthen the coffee sector amidst competition for land and workers.

Blackstone Invests in Drive-Through Chain 7 Brew

Asset management giant Blackstone has made an investment in the growing drive-through chain 7 Brew, which was founded in Fayetteville, Arkansas. A Blackstone representative declined to disclose the amount of the investment to DCN.

AeroPress Inventor Alan Adler Talks Business

Serial inventor and iconic coffee personality Alan Adler was featured in the Financial Times this week in a curiously framed piece called “What a cultish coffee gizmo says about 21st century capitalism.” (paywall)

Treatt Publishes North America Iced/RTD Coffee Report

Multinational coffee extracts and fragrance maker Treatt, which maintains production facilities in Florida, has launched a report on the iced coffee and RTD drink segments in North America.

Carimali Opening Paris Support Center

Italian espresso equipment maker Carimali is opening a technical support center in Paris, France. The center will support traditional and fully automatic machines for a range of clients, according to the company. The opening date has not yet been announced.

World Aeropress Championships Taking Country Applications

Farmer Brothers Brings Shott Syrups to US

New Zealand-based syrups brand Shott is now available in the U.S. market through a new exclusive distribution agreement with Texas-based wholesale supplier and distributor Farmer Brothers.

UFC and Black Rifle Announce Multiyear Partnership

The “sports” organization UFC and Black Rifle Coffee Company reached a multiyear sponsorship agreement that will give the coffee company an in-person presence at events, broadcast integration, custom content and more.
