The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) yesterday announced that the World of Coffee trade show is coming to Jakarta, Indonesia, in May 2025.
It will mark the first time the globally focused coffee event — one of the SCA’s two flagship branded trade shows along with the historically United States-based Specialty Coffee Expo — will take place in a major coffee-producing country. (A World of Coffee show is currently scheduled for Panama in 2026.)
It will also be the second-ever World of Coffee to take place in Asia, following World of Coffee Busan, which is currently underway in South Korea. The SCA also currently holds annual World of Coffee Events in the Europe and Middle East markets.
“Indonesia’s position as one of the most significant consumer markets in Asia, as well as a leading coffee producer makes it the ideal setting for this global event,” SCA CEO Yannis Apostolopoulos said in an announcement of the Indonesia event yesterday. “We are committed to fostering meaningful connections, driving industry innovation and advancing sustainable practices within the coffee sector.”
World of Coffee Jakarta will take place May 15-17, 2025, at the Jakarta Convention Center, through a licensing agreement with show producer Exporum, the Korea-based firm that currently produces trade shows under the CafeShow name in Korea and Vietnam. The hosting partner for World of Coffee Jakarta will be the Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia.
