Italian grinder maker Fiorenzato has added two on-demand grind-by-weight machines to its commercial equipment lineup, the F64 EVO Sense and F64 EVO Pro Sense.
The company’s Sense technology, which debuted last year in Fiorenzato’s AllGround home/prosumer line, adapts to manual changes in the grind setting, automatically optimizing the cutoff timing to hit the prescribed dose weight.
A patented shock-resistant anti-jamming system allows the integrated scale to endure occasional jostles and maintain peak performance on surfaces that aren’t level. The fork-integrated scale is accurate down to a margin of 0.1 gram and is also removable for maintenance and cleaning, according to the company.
“One of our main concerns at Fiorenzato has always been, and always will be, to offer coffee grinders that can satisfy the needs and requirements of baristas, simplifying their lives,” Fiorenzato Marketing Manager Giulia Bagato recently told Daily Coffee News. “We think that precision weighing is a key feature to always obtain the perfect dose in the cup. This is why we have been studying and developing different weighing systems through the years.”
Grind-by-weight technology in Fiorenzato machines first came in 2019 with the XGi line of commercial grinders, which featured the load cell in the lower parts of the grinders that communicated with software. A restyled and updated XGi 2.0 was also recently released.
“This product means a lot to us and we plan on keeping it up to date with the new technology,” said Bagato.
Additional features in the new F64 machines include the company’s “Dark-T” coating on the 64-millimeter burrs, a programmable portafilter detection system and new touchscreen operation, including access to a new usage statistics dashboard.
The two new grinders will be available within a price range between $2,000-$2,500 through authorized Fiorenzato distributors by the end of this year.
“We, as Fiorenzato, strongly believe that the future of this industry is yet to be discovered and that there’s a lot more to explore,” said Bagato. “Research and development are our main focus as we move forward.”
