It’s well established that coffee stuff is the only gift worth giving. Luckily for people in the Bay Area, a new in-person popup market called the Oakland Coffee Market is making buying locally produced coffee stuff a breeze this holiday season.
Coming to the Frank Ogawa Plaza in central Oakland on Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the inaugural Oakland Coffee Market is planning more than two dozen vendors, including coffee roasters, equipment makers and other local makers using coffee as an ingredient.
“The event showcases Oakland’s preeminent coffee creators, celebrating the thriving and diverse local coffee scene and providing opportunities for Oaklanders to convene in a fun, family-friendly environment to taste and support local businesses,” the organizers said in an announcement of the event shared with DCN.
The initiative is being supported by Rubicon Point Partners, and the Oakland Central Uptown Downtown Community Benefit District. Coffee partners investing in the event include Oakland’s own Awaken Cafe & Roasting, The Crown: Royal Coffee Lab and Tasting Room, Sandra Elisa Loofbourow’s Loupe Coffee Consulting, and Sāe Coffee Studio.
The event is free and open to the public, though potential attendees may want to RSVP at Eventbrite for a chance to win one of more than 50 coffee-related prizes from vendors, including gear from Fellow Products.
