Southern California coffee chain Reborn Coffee said it has signed franchise development agreements for 30 new locations spanning nine U.S. states, plus three additional international locations.
The announcement from the Nasdaq-traded company — which currently has 11 company-operated coffee shops, all in California — comes approximately one month after it was granted approval as a U.S. franchisor.
The company said in January that it plans to expand to 100 U.S. and international locations over the next three years.
The newly signed area development agreements — all of which encompass three locations — are in the markets of Northern California, Southern California, Florida, Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Nevada and Ohio. The company also signed a three-location development agreement for Prague, Czech Republic.
Reborn Coffee has not publicly disclosed the minimum investments required for potential franchise partners.
The company, based in Brea, California, does make some unconventional claims regarding its coffee roasting production processes. The company says that its imported green coffees receive a stateside “bean bath” involving “magnetically treated Reborn Water to extract impurities so that [the coffees] are clean and rejuvenated.” The company also outlines a “germination” process that activates “new life and enhances the levels of nutrients in each bean,” according to the Reborn website.
