Chinese coffee analysis equipment company DiFluid is continuing to roll out new products, including a real-time roast analysis tool called OmniVision and new meters through a sibling brand called CoffMeter.
The DiFluid OmniVision, an infrared-based color and temperature detection system for monitoring real-time changes during roasts, was unveiled at the brand’s booth at the recent SCA Expo in Houston.
It was there that the brand also drew attention to its recently launched small-scale roasting smoke mitigation unit, called the AirWave. (Find all of DCN’s 2025 Expo coverage here.)
DiFluid and CoffMeter are both brands owned by Guangdong, China-based manufacturer Shenzhen Digitizing Fluid Technology Co. Products for both brands are designed and produced entirely in-house, according to company representatives.
DiFluid OmniVision
The OmniVision device sends an infrared beam in through the glass windows of roasters (if available), while built-in algorithms analyze data related to color and temperature of the bean mass for real-time display.
The OmniVision also utilizes that data to detect the occurrence of first and second crack.
“You will see a curve [on the screen] that means the change of the roast degree, by color,” DiFluid Marketing Manager Shera Guo told Daily Coffee News. “Also it can catch the ‘voice.’ It knows when it is first crack and when it’s the second crack. As another function, it can also detect the temperature of the roasted beans when you’re cooling down the beans.”
The OmniVision is slated to launch this summer, and the price has not yet been disclosed. Within the DiFluid portfolio, the device essentially fills in the gap between the DiFluid Omix green (and roasted) coffee analyzer and the DiFluid Omni roast color and particle size analyzer.
The devices are also reflected within the brand’s comprehensive companion app, DiFluid Café.
CoffMeter A1 and M1
Coffee professionals and enthusiasts who may not need the full gamut of info offered by the DiFluid products may now also turn to the sibling brand CoffMeter, which offers pared down instruments at lower price points.
“Some of our customers who live in Latin America, or in Yunnan, China, said the DiFluid things are helpful, but may be too expensive for them,” Guo told DCN. “They need the data, but they don’t have the money, so we made another new brand. It’s much more affordable so these people can buy it. It will improve the coffee industry, I think.”
After debuting overseas late last year, the first two CoffMeter products on display at the Expo in Houston included the CoffMeter A1 and M1. The A1 is a roast color analyzer compatible with whole bean and ground coffee, currently priced at $389. The CoffMeter M1, at $329, analyzes the density and moisture content of green beans.
“The M1 does not need to be warmed up, is very fast to detect, and it is also very light and portable, so you can take it with you anywhere,” Guo told DCN. “There is definitely a widespread demand for these products, especially for coffee roasters and anyone who owns a coffee farm.”
CoffMeter products are sold online for international shipments directly from China.
