Lovr Boys Cafe & Roastery is Pouring Hearts in Bonita Springs, Florida

Home is where the hearts are for Lovr Boys Cafe & Roastery in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Between Adirondack-green walls, the 2,000-square-foot coffee shop that opened in late August includes a dedicated roasting room, an onsite bakery and kitchen, and 400 square feet of seating beneath airy 17-foot ceilings. Found throughout the space are Lovr Boys’ signature hearts, adorning bags, cups and more. 

Potted monstera, bird-of-paradise plants and other greenery freshen the scene beneath wicker pendant lights suspended over the butcher-block bar. Handmade Moroccan tile in checkered patterns contributes to the tropical and Mediterranean influences, while baristas operate a terracotta-colored La Marzocco Linea espresso machine paired with Mahlkönig grinders.

The hoppers are loaded with fair-trade and organic-certified coffees roasted by Lovr Boys Co-Founder Caleb Linn on a 15-pound-capacity BC-15 Buckeye Coffee roaster in an adjoining room. Linn sources green coffees primarily through InterAmerican Coffee, seeking certified offerings with chocolatey, sweet and bold profiles that work both black and with milk.

Anna Linn, Caleb’s sister and co-owner, leads the bakery program, making sourdough bread, pastries, bagels, cinnamon rolls and other items from scratch for the shop’s menu of baked goods, sandwiches and toasts.

The family business extends to the artwork, including the company logo behind the bar, created by the siblings’ mother.

“We were going for a very cozy home feeling,” Anna Linn told Daily Coffee News. “We want people to feel like we’re inviting them into our home and they’re hanging out and they feel like family and friends.”

Caleb Linn’s coffee career began at a Starbucks in Naples before he moved to Tampa for college and worked at an independent cafe called Felicitous Coffee, where he developed a greater appreciation for the community side of business.

After returning to Naples, Caleb Linn began roasting on a small fluid-bed machine inside a local grocery store with its own cafe. Anna Linn turned her interest in home baking into professional work at a local cafe while also selling cakes online.

In 2022 the siblings decided to go into business together, taking on a name Anna Linn suggested on a lark, inspired in part by song lyrics and in part by the affectionate teasing of her little brother. 

“I knew I wanted to have love in the name, and that’s just kind of how it went from there,” Anna said. “I always call Caleb the Loverboy. He’s a sweetie.”

The Linns plan to continue growing Lovr Boys’ wholesale roasting business while potentially following their hearts into more cafes, particularly in nearby Naples, where the business got its start.

“We definitely want to have a place in Naples again in the next two years, because we started in Naples and that community is really important to us,” Anna Linn said. “It’s the one that brought us to where we are today, so it’d be cool to start there again.”
